Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
Old Crow Medicine Show release in 2008 their third Nettwerk album called Tennessee Pusher. Produced by the legendary Don Was (Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, the Rolling Stones), the album features the first single "Caroline" along with 11 other Old Crow originals and an American standard called "Lift Him Up" by Blind Alfred Reed. Having sold over 290K albums, OCMS can attribute much of their success to their relentless touring schedule. Between headlining shows and countless festivals (Bonnaroo, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival, etc), the band lives on the road - they thrive on the communal experience of the live shows. OCMS have made a name for themselves as energetic performers with an unbridled spirit."as musicians, songwriters and singers, they are the smartest and finest purveyors of American music to come down the pike in decades." - Don Was

2 out of 5 stars Nothing to crow about   November 18, 2008
Though I love this type of country music I found Tennessee Pusher to be repetitive and way too druggy. I would play maybe two of these songs again.
Not worth the money.

4 out of 5 stars After several listens   November 2, 2008
This is definitely different from previous OCMS albums. But then again, so were OCMS, and Big Iron. After fighting the urge to dislike this album because it was different from their previous records I've grown to appreciate it for what it is: a damn good bunch of songs.

This seems to be the norm with OCMS. The same thing has happened with each of their major releases. First it is deemed a sell-out, then it becomes appreciated for what it's own qualities. I'll just say that Tennessee Pusher makes me wanting more OCMS, whatever their next bunch of tracks might be like...

5 out of 5 stars tennessee pusher by ocms   October 28, 2008
once again the old crow medicine show amazes us with a wonderful new cd. they continue to push their limits and create awesome tracks of music. i have been very satisfied with the new cd and havent taken it out of my cd player in the car for a month! i will always be a fan!

4 out of 5 stars Give it a chance   October 25, 2008
This is a very good album with some very solid tracks such as Alabama High Test, Methamphetamine, Highway Halo, and Motel In Memphis. Caroline is also a good song but some might say it's not as heart felt as the original. Overall, there are a lot of good tracks but this album is surely different from their previous ones. Don't go into listening to this thinking it will be at all like Big Iron World. I definitely enjoy it an I am a very big fan of them who has all 5 of their previous albums.

4 out of 5 stars Lovin' the old timey music   October 24, 2008
Old Crow Medicine Show is a great band, high energy and fun. Although I prefer their old music this is still a very good CD. The music gets stuck in your head.
