Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Gary Leffew has a gold buckle in bullriding... and a clearly defined set of rules for bullriding students. He has taught hundreds of them such things as the base position, the imaginary line and breathing techniques. Using NFR footage, Gary explains how the champions have mastered the sport. This video is ADVANCED training.

5 out of 5 stars REAL instruction   October 19, 2007

I have bought quite a few rodeo video products, and come away thinking "well, its better than nothing". Not so with this one. The main problems with the others (such as Saddle Bronc Riding with the Etbauer Brothers and Bull Riding with Cody Custer)are that there is too much time spent on equipment and attitude (nothing wrong with that in and of its self) but little (Cody Custer) or no (Etbauers) time spent actually talking about your RIDE. The second is that instruction tends to be disorganized and haphazard. Gary Leffew's video is nothing like that. He starts at the beginning with a simple but effective set of rules demonstrated clearly on a stationary barrel using a variety of camera angles to get his point across. He concludes with a step by step run through of what do from the time your bull leaves its chute to stepping off. Then he goes into what to do in the chute. He concludes with an excellent section on hangups from the bull fighter's point of view. Finally, he analyzes several great rides from the past pointing out what the rider did right. Of course, if you are a beginner, you should attend a bull riding school or clinic first (Lyle Sankey's is my choice, but Gary's son Bret also runs one that I hear good things about), but this is a great primer that will give you a heads up before you get there. If you want a bull riding video DO NOT GET ANY BEFORE YOU GET THIS ONE
