BioGlide motion technology offers a natural-feeling 18-inch stride while the trainer's BioFit design will provide a comfortable feel on the footpads and handlebars. The handlebars also feature grip heart rate monitoring which allows you to track your heart rate while you're exercising.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

1 out of 5 stars If Something Happens, Don't Count on Schwinn to Help!   January 6, 2009

At first I loved my Schwinn 430, so much that I recommended it to 2 other people. Then after 6 months of regular use (3x/wk) it broke. Kind of like when a chain comes off a bike there was no resistance. Called Customer Service and the girl thought she had it figured out, said it was under warranty and sent a replacement part. All was good until I got the part with no other info. No way of knowing how to install it, no directions, nothing. I called back Cust Service 4 times, left 2 messages and never got a call back. Finally go thru and was told I'd just have to figure it out myself, probably have to buy special tools to get the thing apart and that basically I was out of luck in getting any assistance because there is only a 90 day labor warranty. Moral of the story is, if it breaks...you've probably wasted all of your money because fixing it is about impossible. Seems like a machine like this shouldn't have broke after 6 months anyway, leads me to believe this is an extremely cheap product!

4 out of 5 stars Glad I chose this one   January 4, 2009
I had been shopping for a while for an elliptical. I did some research and for the price this model had the best reviews. I had a cheap elliptical years ago but it didn't compare to this one. It's very quiet with a smooth movement. Very stable, doesn't rock or move around when in use. It took about 3 hours to put together and I'm pretty experienced since I've probably had every kind of exercise equipment out there at one time or another. The parts could have been labeled better but everything fit together perfectly. Now all I need is the motivation to keep using it.

4 out of 5 stars Have owned for about a year....very impressed!   December 29, 2008

First of all, I was impressed with delivery to front door at not cost.

I weigh about 160lbs and the eliptical seems very sturdy and of solid robust build. My wife, two daughters and myself have been using it very regularly for about a year now and see no problems. Very smooth motion and great range of resistance for work out.

I spent alot of time researching elipticals and visited several sporting good stores to test drive the many different make and models and found that this schwinn eliptical was the most smooth and solid construction in its price range and was better than some that were priced at $1000.00 and up.

The control panel or operator panel may not have the best or most elaborate features and I was a little dissappointed that it does not keep track or a record of combined mileage or total mileage. That is the only thing I can complain about.

It's been worth the money and then some.
