5 out of 5 stars One of My Old Favorites!   October 12, 2008
This was one of my favorite videos when I was little. It taught me so much, and sparked an interest in deaf culture. Deaf studies is now my minor. A great learning video!

5 out of 5 stars Actors Error   May 7, 2008
This excellent video stars Linda Bove, Ed Waterstreet, Tim Scanlon and Elaine Bromka not the actors listed in this description above (i.e. Peter DeLuise). Linda, Ed and Tim are native users of American Sign Language and skilled actors who create an imaginative and humorous adaptation of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and Little Red Riding Hood. I love using this video with children.

5 out of 5 stars Wish there were more like this!   April 2, 2007
My 3 year old enjoys watching this video. I love the fact that American Sign Language (ASL) is being used. This video is not for someone new to ASL, but for sharing a couple of childhood stories using ASL.

Because we want to watch this over and over; I have to make a back up, in case the tape breaks!

4 out of 5 stars Nice Educational Video, that's Fun -- a review of Sign-Me-a-Story   January 20, 2006

To me this is one of those videos that you might want to check out first before purchasing (although the price here is great). The reason is that with anything such as this, which is educational *and* stylized (having it's own unique approach) you can never tell if you child will 'get it'.

Mine, for example, find it very interesting. My daughter (5.5) likes the story aspect of the video, but is also gaining understanding and knowledge of signing. My younger son (3.5) however, is probably only watching the story. Nothing wrong with that. The signing part, and the reasons for needing to sign, will be something they will understand later.

Four Stars. Fun Story. Good opportunity to learn about how people are different and yet the same.

5 out of 5 stars My kids are enthralled with these stories.   May 1, 2005

This is really an excellent tape, with clear signs. I have a three-year-old and also a four-year-old with Down Syndrome, and both love it. They were signing along the first time, and would watch it all day if I let them. I especially liked the vocab introduction they do before each story and the review after. I wish they had more like this.
