Product Description
Horses in motion represent some of the most elegant creatures in all creation, and few have captured that elegance and power as Kim McElroy has. Through her mastery of pastels, the artist celebrates both the horse’s movement and the spiritual wisdom it embodies.
McElroy has developed a strong and growing audience for her unique style of painting, which equine author and teacher Linda Kohanov calls “archetypal realism.” Kohanov and McElroy collaborated previously on their Way of the Horse book and card set. New World now expands the readers’ experience of this gorgeous art with the four-color hardcover Way of the Horse Journal. The journal has a magnetic folding cover hard-bound cover with a removable belly band, and pages filled with McElroy’s color artwork, poetry and sketches along with plenty of blank space for equine-inspired writing or drawing. A foreword by Kohanov offers insights into the mystery and power of McElroy’s images and the lessons they can teach us.

Way of the Horse Journal December 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a big supporter of journaling. I've always got a scribbler or a notebook beside me to jot down ideas or to work through my feelings. I have to admit that I normally buy something cheap at the local dollar store. When it's complete, I simply throw it on a growing pile of used up journals. My writing tends to be so messy that I couldn't reread them if I tried.
Lately, I've been looking to get a nicer journal. My idea was that I could write affirmations, poems, and meditations in a separate book. Then, I could use them or reread them whenever I wanted without having to riffle through a messy unorganized pile.
I think I'll use The Way of the Horse Journal. There's plenty of space to write as well as beautiful drawings and inspirational passages to set the mood. It might make a rather nice sketchbook as well. How will you use The Way of the Horse Journal?
Beautiful December 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was a gift from a friend and I like it so much I gave it to 7 of my friends. The pictures and inscriptions are beautiful. If you know anyone that likes horses they will love this Journal.
Beautiful!!! Very moving art and quotes October 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a beautiful journal that really touched me as I looked through it. The pages are unlined so you could sketch or write. It is really a thing of beauty, with thick pages, and a substaintial feel to it. Not ideal for a routine riding schedule or list of things done with the horses that day, but rather your feelings about your ride or random thoughts. It is more art than organizer.
