awesome trackball, mine got so dirty the light barely shined through so it was time to buy a new one.. worked perfectly and feels smooth better than buying another one $30 off the internet and gettin it replaced in NYC for $100.. easy too

5 out of 5 stars A great replacement part   December 13, 2008

Replaced the old grungy trackball on my Pearl. This piece just dropped right in, and good as new. Definitely worth the money if you trackball is starting to sputter/skip/stick. I did the whole "disassemble and clean" trick on my old trackball, but it is difficult to put back together, and in the end it just never felt right.

4 out of 5 stars Inexpensive Fix   November 22, 2008

My journey to fixing my Blackberry 8100 trackball started with looking online for repair services. The first I found charged around $70, so I went to the T-Mobile store to see if they could assist. They directed me to Customer Care phone support, and after being on hold for about 15 minutes, the answer was, "It's not under warrantee, you don't have insurance, sorry." I then started looking again for online fixes. This part sells at a range between $5 and $50, installation not included. I was pleased that I was able to get such a small part, at such a great price, from this seller. Without any resources or "how to" I found that this was an easy fix, just dropping the trackball into the hole, and gently clicking the silver ring cover (the side w/o prongs towards the LCD), and voila, good as new!
