Amazon.com No more good news, everyone--this fourth volume of Futurama is the show's last. By turns frenetic and far-sighted, Matt Groening's futuristic comedy provided belly-laughs for self-confessed sci-fi nerds, but somehow failed to connect with a broader audience, even though it was often funnier and sharper than stablemate The Simpsons. So now bid farewell to the Planet Express team--Fry, Leela, Zoidberg, Bender, Amy, Hermes, Prof Farnsworth--as well as to kindly Kif, cloned Cubert, megalomaniac Mom, mutants in the sewer, the cast of robo-sitcom All My Circuits, swashbuckling space lothario and William Shatner wannabe Zapp Brannigan, Elzar the four-armed chef, and all the other characters that made Futurama such a unique experience. This fourth and final year has all the elements that fans enjoyed so much--but also those elements that partially explain its cancellation. Recurring characters are great if you've watched the show before, as are the in-jokes; and the many parodies of classic science fiction are fine for the initiated, but risk leaving other viewers out in the cold. The show's strengths and perceived weaknesses are exemplified in the episode "Where No Fan Has Gone Before," in which the original cast of Star Trek play themselves: hilarious for Trekkers, but not really for anyone else. Elsewhere we find Leela discovering her real parents aren't aliens at all but in fact live in the sewers; Kif getting pregnant; Fry discovering the fossilized remains of his faithful pet dog; and Bender being converted to steam power. Despite some ups and downs, it's still the funniest animated TV show. Multifarious DVD extras include cast and crew commentaries, deleted scenes, animatics, galleries and Easter eggs. --Mark Walker

did not receive December 16, 2008 I was a little disappointed not to get the dvd. It was a present for family. But thanks for promptly refunding my money.
horrible deal. Exact reason you dont want to buy here. October 4, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
waited over 30 days and never received what was purchased. I even wrote an extensive e-mail to the seller after 20-some days of waiting asking for anything along the lines of explanation, consoltation, refund, or really any contact atall and received nothing until Amazon refunded my money. Thanks gnewall20,......for Nothing. Take your business elsewhere as assuredly I will. Just Not cool B.S. indeed. If u don't have something don't sell it, and/or at least let the purchaser know so as not to waste all this freakin time! What if this was a gift! B.S. I could've had this over a month ago!!!
I have ridden the mighty Moon Worm! July 30, 2008 Every single episode of this show was classic. What a shame that this show didn't out-live the non-funny Simpsons. My Futurama collection is my best video collection posession besides Invader Zim. Best episodes in this volume are Jurassic Bark, Crimes of the Hot, The Why of Fry and The Devil's Hands... Enjoy. =]

Futurama: Still great! May 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Since anyone considering purchasing this box set will already be familiar with the series, I'll skip the summarizing of the contents. This set collects all of season 4's episodes into one nice little package & does it well. My only gripe is that the plastic sleeve on the box dents & scratches easily & is very visible, unfortunately. While the idea behind it is great, I wish that the designers had made the sleeve a little more durable.
